Unique Designation and Event Designed to Expand Knowledge and Benefits of Remanufacturing to the Economy and the Environment
Austin, TX – PureWrx, The #1 platform for OEM-Certified Pre-Owned IT Hardware, announced today that it has successfully petitioned the City of Austin as well as The State of Texas to declare April 11th, 2019, Reman Day. The Proclamation, signed by City of Austin Mayor Steve Adler, underscores a movement started in 2012 by the United States International Trade Commission (USITC) report that remanufacturing provides over 180,000 full-time U.S. jobs as well as produces over $45B of sustainable goods per years.
Remanufacturing is a comprehensive and rigorous industrial process by which a previously sold, leased, used, worn, or non-functional product or part is returned to a “like-new” or “better-than new” condition, from both a quality and performance perspective, through a controlled, reproducible, and sustainable process.
Based on the USITC study, remanufacturing saves, on average, 85% of energy use, 86% of water use, and 85% of material use compared to new goods.

Reman Day is an annual national event executed at the local level supported by remanufacturers as they host students, teachers, parents, job seekers and other local community members at open houses, plant tours and presentations designed to showcase the economic and environmental benefits of remanufacturing.

In celebration of Reman Day on the 11th of April 2019, PureWrx will host an event to promote the value of remanufacturing and draw attention to this critical part of the US economy. We encourage participants to bring laptops, servers, and other IT related equipment for responsible recycling.
